Identity document reading
Parse passports, national ID cards, and driver’s licenses with OCR and MRZ support.
Citizen-facing portals, benefits programs, and secure facilities all need identity verification that can run inside government-controlled infrastructure. FacePlugin deploys on-premises or air-gapped, so document images and biometric data stay under the agency’s own custody.
Parse passports, national ID cards, and driver’s licenses with OCR and MRZ support.
Confirm an applicant or visitor matches the photo on their government-issued ID.
Prevent spoofing attempts during remote applications for benefits or services.
Government agencies routinely need to verify identity for services that range from online benefits applications to physical access at secure facilities, and they often need to do it under procurement and data-sovereignty rules that rule out a third-party cloud API by default. A verification system that can’t run inside the agency’s own network, or that requires sending citizen data to an external vendor, is a non-starter for many of these programs.
FacePlugin’s SDKs run on Linux servers, Windows machines, and mobile devices under your control, including air-gapped and offline deployments once licensed. The same document-recognition, face-matching, and liveness-detection building blocks used for private-sector eKYC apply directly to citizen portals, benefits onboarding, and secure-facility access.
Combine these SDKs — licensed once, run on infrastructure you control — to fit your existing workflow.

Detect tampered, photocopied, or screen-displayed documents before they’re accepted.
Gate entry to secure buildings or systems with on-device face-and-liveness checks.
Run entirely offline once licensed, for environments with no external network access.
Verify identity for online applications to benefits, permits, or licensing programs.
Reduce duplicate or fraudulent benefit claims by confirming applicant identity against ID documents.
Replace or supplement badge-based access control with face verification at sensitive sites.
Read and validate passports and travel documents as part of a broader processing workflow.
Yes. Once licensed, the server SDK doesn’t require an outbound network call to function, which is why it fits air-gapped and classified environments where no external connectivity is permitted.
FacePlugin hasn’t obtained a FedRAMP authorization. Because the software runs entirely inside your own infrastructure rather than as a hosted service, it doesn’t sit in the same category as a cloud SaaS vendor that would typically need one – your agency’s own ATO process covers the environment the SDK runs in.
No. FacePlugin reads and validates the document itself (format, MRZ, tamper signs) and matches the face on it to the person presenting it. Checking that identity against a watchlist, registry, or external database is a separate system your agency would integrate alongside it.
