Quick Start

Install and Activate

Install the SDK, then activate it with a license key before calling any recognition function — every platform follows this same activate-then-initialize pattern.

  • Add face_recognition_sdk to pubspec.yaml as a git or local path dependency.
  • Copy the native runtimes: facerecognitionsdk.aar for Android into android/libfacesdk/, and the three required frameworks for iOS into ios/Frameworks/, then run pod install.
  • Request a license for your application ID / bundle ID, then add camera and photo-library permissions.
dart
// 1. Activate, then initialize
final code = await getMachineCode();
final activated = await setActivation('FP1....');
if (activated == SDK_SUCCESS) {
  await init();
}

// 2. Enroll a face
final faces = await faceDetection(imagePath);
if (faces.length == 1) {
  final template = await templateExtraction(imagePath, faces[0]);
  final crop = await cropFace(imagePath, faces[0]);
  // store template + crop in your own database
}

// 3. Release resources when done
await deinit();
Licensing

How Licensing Works

The Flutter plugin code itself is released under the MIT license. The underlying SDK runtime still needs an offline license key bound to your application ID or bundle ID — the demo app's key only works for its own demo IDs, so contact FacePlugin for a key scoped to your app.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Flutter SDK send biometric data to the cloud?

No. Every stage of face recognition runs on your own server or directly on the device, depending on the platform – biometric templates never leave an environment you control.

How is the SDK licensed?

Licenses are offline and bound to a machine code, application ID, or bundle ID depending on the platform. Contact FacePlugin with that identifier to receive a license key – there are no per-call or per-match fees once licensed.

Where can I see the full source and open an issue?

The FaceRecognition-Flutter integration is maintained publicly on GitHub at github.com/Faceplugin-ltd, where you can browse the code, file issues, and track releases.
